Our Perspective on Why we Started Blogging

Feedback from CoffeeOrdersCo.com founders on why they started a blog in 2023. With so many platforms to choose from, why blogging? Why this medium in 2023? Read more below!

Why Blogging?

This blog is dedicated to the Lord. We echo the psalmist who declared boldly, “Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” This blog is for the glory of Jesus and to help make His Name known amongst the nations. Whether by preaching of the Gospel, teaching how to read the Word, learning better ways to explore, or more ways to live life– to Christ be the glory, forever and ever, amen!

Cosette:

Why we started blogging in 2023? Are we a little late to the game here? Blogging is a medium that has been thriving for decades and as we see it, it is only just getting started! The time for blogging is now. Blogging allows you to communicate truth, deliver services, and give inspiration to a wide variety of readers across the globe.

We know that one tip or idea can help transform someones relationship with God, alter their travel plans, or impact their daily habits. Just as hundreds of blogs have done for us! Blogging is one of the clearest platforms to be able to communicate directly to the needs of audiences. Being able to speak on specific subjects, without the limitations, constraints, or unrealistic expectations of other platforms (IG, TikTok, Twitter, etc..).

Blogging is a creative writer’s paradise and an entrepreneurs best friend. While wanting to find joy in the process, provide services and help to our audience, we also intend to monetize this website! There is a wide variety of ways to do that, but the most obvious is ads! As annoying as they are, those little buggers are powerful. This blog will hopefully help fund our way to creating more posts to fuel our dreams to spread the Gospel further, disciple, and teach the Word of God. So if you are here, just reading this is helping us further that mission!

David:

Why we started blogging in 2023? Blogging has always been something that I’ve wanted to do but never really put in the actual effort to do. Finally, when my wife decided that she was serious about blogging, I also decided to get serious about it (I need motivators in my life, otherwise I might not get something done, oops).

I love writing, and it’s been a passion of mine since I was in 8th grade. Since then, I graduated from college with a BA in Communications and an emphasis in writing, so I’ve done a lot of it. My favorite medium is poetry, but that’s a whole other story. So when this blog finally came to fruition, I figured, why not?

It might seem strange to stick to this medium when social media is booming and (v)logging seems to be more popular than (b)logging. But I think that after my fair share of social media I’m ready to slow down and revel in all the mundane aspects of writing. Plus, it’s also super aesthetic. I mean, common! Think about clacking away on your laptop in the wee hours of the morning, coffee in hand, the sunrise kissing the windowsill good-morning.

I think for the most part I just really enjoy writing. Blogging is an excellent outlet for that, and I want to share all the experiences I’ve accumulated over the years with you. It excites me to think that some of you have read this far already, and it shows that your just as interested in all of this as I am. And I couldn’t be more thrilled to do this with you all!

Why this blog? Bible? Travel? Coffee? Lifestyle?

Cosette:

Why this blog? Why these specific focuses? Let me give a little backstory first… I love writing & I am a huge journal-er. With almost 100 personal journals that have documented the last decade of my life, I find joy and peace in being able to visualize my day on paper while also being able to document my walk with Christ. One of the greatest impacts in my secret place with Jesus has been recording prayers, testimonies, and the voice of God.

Each journal is like a mini monument or altar that Jesus and I have built together, I bring the wood (the paper lol) and He brings the FIRE (His Spirit I get to try and record). Being able to go back and give Him glory and remember what He has done, spoke, and promised to me through these journals, our little altars, is priceless.

Humanity is forgetful, like we see recorded in the Old Testament, Israel often forgot the faithfulness of the Lord and what He had spoken to them. I am not–not saying that if the people of God back then had an aesthetic paper source journal & a muji pen (THE best pens btw) writing down the commands of God and recording the moments of when they witnessed the Lord bring them out of Egypt and why Moses went up to the mountain…maybe they wouldn’t have had Aaron build them a golden calf to worship… maybe they just needed journals to help them recall for themselves personally… idk.. maybe. Just a thought… but probably not, they just needed the Holy Spirit lol! anywho..

Back to my main point, writing has helped me cultivate intimacy with Christ and to encourage me in deeper faithfulness. This is my history with the Lord and my history with writing. It seems only fitting to translate this passion and joy to a digital platform for the ministry and service to others. And this is where the idea “Coffee Orders” came from.

If it isn’t obvious we really enjoy our daily cup of bean water. But we know that everyone has their own order, and sometimes it’s not even coffee at all! We use this phrase metaphorically as we know that every person has a different “order in life.” Different identities, goals, ministries, and vision. We want to reach you, even if you have a different coffee order. That is why this blog is not only for the follower of Jesus, but for the traveler, the nomad, the homemaker, and the person who is all of the above- this blog is for you, so we bring you, many different coffee orders to your fingertips.

David:

So why this specific blog? And why all the different facets? Well, because I’m passionate about these topics. First and foremost, I am passionate about Jesus and the Bible and everything that comes with that. So, I am dedicating all of my work on this blog to Him! Because it’s all for His glory anyways!

Travel is something my wife and I love to do together. I think combined we’ve been to almost twenty-five countries. She’s checked off most of the countries on the list, but that’s okay! I’m not jealous or anything like that. Psh. Our goal is to share all of our experiences in different places throughout this big, green (and blue) world. Plus, we have some tips and tricks on how to travel for little to nothing because, I mean, we all want to know how we can get the most out of our experiences without breaking the bank.

Coffee should be obvious. But I know there are some of you out there who would prefer tea over coffee and I get it (not really). We’ve been to a lot, and I mean a lot of coffee shops over the years, within the US and outside of it. We want to highlight some of our favorite places and drinks so you can enjoy them just as much as we did if you happen to be in the same area!

We both went to school in Chicago and there’s quite the coffee scene there, and on top of that, a lot of our friends are baristas (and very good ones at that), so we’ve been a bit spoiled when it comes to coffee. I wouldn’t call myself a connoisseur by any means, but I can tell a good cup of coffee from a not-as-loved one.

We’re so excited to start this with you all! We’ll be posting a few times a week, so be on the lookout! Here are some of our latest blogs:

Happy sipping,

Cosette & David
