Fall is in the air, and what better way to celebrate the season than with a delicious pumpkin treat? This easy 2-ingredient pumpkin chocolate mousse is the ultimate autumn dessert—rich, creamy, and packed with those cozy fall flavors we all love.
Made with just organic pumpkin puree and dark chocolate, this mousse is not only simple to whip up but also incredibly indulgent. Whether you’re looking for a quick dessert to impress guests or a Pinterest-worthy snack to enjoy after a chilly day, this pumpkin chocolate mousse will become your go-to fall recipe!
Ingredients:
I picked up the pumpkin puree and dark chocolate from Whole Foods Market! The *Organic Pumpkin Puree was $2.50, 365 brand puree non organic was $1.50. The Evolved Dark Chocolate is a bit pricier, almost $4 a bar, I had to get 2 for the recipe making the grand total $11 for this recipe ($2.50 a serving).
If you would like a more affordable version, try a generic brand of dark chocolate chips for a lower price range of $4-$5 to yield 2 cups of Pumpkin Chocolate Mousse.
- 1 cup of dark chocolate (for a sweeter option, choose 75% dark chocolate with added sugar)
- 1 can of organic pumpkin puree (about 15 oz)
Directions:
- Prepare the Pumpkin Puree: Start by placing your organic pumpkin puree into a blender. Make sure it’s smooth and ready to mix.
- Melt the Dark Chocolate: Melt your dark chocolate on the stove using low heat or pop it in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted.
- Blend Together: Pour the melted chocolate into the blender with the pumpkin puree. Blend until the mixture is creamy and light.
- Chill: Once blended, transfer the mousse to mason jars or an airtight container. Let it cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour. For the best mousse-like texture, leave it in the fridge for 24 hours.
Sweetener Options (not necessary):
If you prefer your mousse on the sweeter side, add a tablespoon of organic maple syrup, or use a 75% dark chocolate that contains sugar.
Serving Tips:
This mousse yields about 2 cups, perfect for sharing (or keeping all to yourself)! For a Pinterest-worthy presentation, serve it in mason jars topped with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or shaved chocolate. It’s sure to impress at your next fall gathering or dinner party.
Storage & Shelf Life:
Keep your pumpkin chocolate mousse fresh by storing it in the fridge. It will last for 5-7 days—if it doesn’t get devoured before then!
Hormone Happy
This pumpkin chocolate mousse is not only a delightful fall treat but also a great option for women during the luteal and menstrual phases of their cycle. The organic pumpkin puree is rich in fiber and vitamins like Vitamin A and C, which support hormone health and help combat inflammation.
Dark chocolate is known for its magnesium content, which can alleviate cramps and boost mood, making it a perfect ingredient for this phase. Plus, by using dark chocolate and eliminating refined sugars, this dessert provides a naturally sweet option that satisfies cravings without the blood sugar spikes that can disrupt hormone balance. It’s a tasty, hormone-friendly way to indulge!
