My husband David and I moved to Texas (Dallas) a year ago on November 2! The moment we arrived in our new city, we were filled with excitement. As new residents of Texas, we knew we wanted to conquer the coffee scene.
We had visited Dallas twice before, and the city captured our coffee loving hearts similar to Chicago. With endless coffee shops in every neighborhood, we knew this places had hidden gem that needed to be discovered.
Almost a year later, I discovered over 50 coffee shops and tasted hundreds of coffees. These are my favorite coffee shops since moving to Texas, all in and around Dallas proper!
My coffee shop wants needs (get to know my bias’s)
I need cute glasses, homemade syrups, high quality milks, single origin espresso, true cortados, real macchiatos, friendly baristas, and something they give that I didn’t know I was looking for/or would love.
I appreciate good aesthetic and reliable wi-fi. Comfortable and indoor/outdoor seating options are a must. I also appreciate specialized menus (if you have everything, you’re an expert in nothing) and eclectic-uniqueness. Not too corporate, not too grunge, not too basic. Soooooo all that being said, here are my favorite coffee shops! :’)
7. RH Café Dallas (highland park)
why? boujee aesthetic + delicious menu.
6. Davis Street Espresso (bishop arts)
why? the cortado blew my mind. I ordered two in one sitting. Originally, I didn’t get the hype. The space is not my aesthetic (too rustic and no wifi lol). But once I tasted the coffee and food….. I GET THE HYPE. I fought this one too long, glad I gave in!
5. Rosalind Coffee (garland)
why? the space is so cute, the downtown gives TEXAS, and the coffee was SO good!
4. Fount Board & Table (uptown)
why? I loved the moodiness of the venue. The homemade vanilla syrup was exceptional. I’d go more if I lived closer!
3. Lemma Coffee Co. (carrollton)
why? It’s close to home. They make smooth lattes and perfect homemade syrups. The beans are robust and single origin (great roasters). It’s situated in the cutest little downtown!
2. Triumph Espresso & Whiskey (design district)
why? They have a great specialized coffee menu. They offer homemade syrups without an up charge. The baristas are genuine. There is fun indoor and outdoor seating. They are open super late. It’s also a jazz bar at night (even tho I’ve never been lol). The Kyoto cold brew is insane! Lastly, they have a free EV charger (which we NEED lol).
1. Native Coffee Co. (farmers branch)
why? Jesus followers own and run the place. Super close to home for us. The single origin beans are ethically sourced (and insanely tasty). Best mocha I have ever had… I’m hooked. The space is inspiring, earthy, and has the best view of the sunrise. Seating is really comfortable. They have the best seasonal menus, and I’m typically not a seasonal girly. MY favorite coffee shop. I have gone almost every day this month… oops lol!
For this post, I am choosing not to review each coffee shop individually (beyond my personal biased opinion). Find better descriptions in my Dallas Coffee Shop Bucket List (with 38+ Dallas Coffee Shops).
I simply wanted to share my favorite coffee shops. To me, these coffee shops check all of my boxes. And sometimes a blog just doesn’t cut it on WHY. You really need to go yourself! Try your favorite coffee order at one of these spots and let me know how it goes! 🙂
much love,
Cosette
