Looking to check off more countries on you 2024 bucket list? Flights can be the most expensive part of traveling, so let credit cards cover it so you don’t have to!
So, some of you are already reeling, saying to yourself “I don’t want to open a credit card!” or “What about the yearly fees?” Rest assured, we’ve found the best credit cards for you to use for travel points. And you can earn up to $1,000 dollars worth of travel points per card and gain lounge access in almost every airport across the globe!
Most credit cards have the same stipulation: spend $4,000 in three months and earn x amount of points. It varies between 50,000-75,000 points per card. That might seem like a lot of money to spend in three months, but if you have bills like rent, groceries, car expenses, etc, you can easily rack up $4,000 in the three months! An important rule of thumb: Do not spend what you do not have! Be financially responsible, friends!
The first card we recommend from personal use is the Chase Sapphire Preferred!
This was our first card! My wife signed up for the card and we used it for everything. She spent the $4,000 in the three months and then used her referral link to refer me and get a bonus 25,000 points! I then repeated the process and earned 60,000 points in rewards. So if you have a boo-thang and they’re willing to sign up for a credit card, this is a great way to get additional points. Check it out!
The 2nd & 3rd cards we recommend is the Capital One Venture X! In a specific order.
These are frequently hailed as the best travel credit card, with perks specifically catered to travel. Note, be sure to get these cards in the right order! Start with the Capital One Venture and ring out all the points and benefits. When you are ready, call and downgrade this card (so you don’t have to pay the annual $95 fee).
Next, apply for the Capital One Venture X, which is the elite version of what you just had! It’s a lofty $395 annual fee, but you get all of that back and more every year in just annual perks, no foreign transaction fees when traveling abroad, unlimited access to lounges in almost every airport around the world. Personally, the lounge access is the BEST part of having this credit card. Relaxing in luxury spaces, charge devices, and free food and drinks makes it worth it. Details on the Venture X benefits below.
