How to Make Homemade Oat (Alternative) Milk

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients 

  1. Oats, Nuts, or Seeds (your choice, pick on or mix them for a milk blend!) 
  2. Filtered water
  3. Blender, food processor, or alternative milk maker  (I don’t use the almond cow but I have heard amazing things!)
  1. Vanilla 
  2. Cinnamon
  3. Pumpkin Spice
  4. Dates
  5. Maple or Agave Syrup  
  6. Salt

I get all of these ingredients from my local Trader Joes!

Step 2: Measure your ratio

Step 3: Soak your nuts or seeds! (preferably 12-24hrs)

*Oats DO NOT have to be previously soaked, making this perfect for a spontaneous batch of oat milk!*

Step 4: Strain and wash, be sure to rid any film as separation is natural

Step 5: Blend ingredients and add desired amount of water

This includes any sweeteners or additives you prefer! 

Step 6: Strain using cheesecloth or bag 

Step 7: Refrigerate in an airtight container, enjoy! 🙂 

Now you have the perfect creamy homemade alternative milk for your coffee, latte, or matcha!
