When coffee shop hoping, I typically look for a location that has their espresso dialed in right while achieving the ascetics I prefer. This sounds snobby, because it is, I know. But if I am about to drop $5-9 on a coffee, it better be worth it! 😂
I don’t know if it is the gen z in me or what, but I can NOT work in a café if it’s just not the vibe… maybe, just maybe I can bear grabbing coffee with a friend. I think typically ascetics match the quality of the coffee. And yes, I think this can be proven based on the shops I’ve been to and the coffee I’ve tasted!
So, if you are looking for a more traditional coffee shop experience, great espresso, vibes, and perfect for a coffee date or remote work- check out: East Dallas Coffee Shops! But if you are looking for some unique spots to check out with friends and get more than just coffee out of your trip, keep reading!
1. Good Boy Café – Coffee, Vintage, & Plants
Coffee: 4.5/5 Aesthetic: 5/5 Remote Work: ? Prices: $5-10
You have to check this location out before it get really found out! Opening only a few months ago. Good Boy Café is THE spot to browse vintage and artisan pieces while simultaneously debating if you need another plant child to take care of… all the plants are accompanied by an optional planter pots if you find one your style (you will).
But what is the main reason we are coming here? COFFEE. Their coffee was exquisite! Delicious espresso, homemade syrups, and perfectly paired milks (oat or whole!). The only thing that would make the coffee experience a little bit better is the price for lattes. As the base latte, matcha, and London fog are a hefty $7 (not including $1 uncharge for alternative milk or syrups).
So keep the prices in mind, you are truly paying for the coffee + vibes… but to me, it was so worth it! Maybe not a daily stop but every few weeks you will see me hanging out at Good Boy Café!
Recommendation: Hot Vanilla Oat Milk Latte & a Topo Chico
2. Halcyon – Coffee, Remote Work, & Bar
Coffee: 4.5/5 Aesthetic: 3/5 Remote Work: 5/5 Coffee Prices: $4-7
You will find every remote worker in this lower Greenville radius here! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to take my laptop and post up at coffee shops when I can, but this place actually gave me slight culture shock. There had to of been at least 40ish people spread out throughout the cafe working remotely (still plenty of seating, its such a spacious environment!). So it goes without saying, this is THE remote approved spot. Fast wifi, amble variety seating, good drink menu, and walking distance to other restaurants.
The prices aren’t listed on the board (weird), but. after paying 2 ices vanilla oat milk lattes came out to $14, which is standard in city. We were pleasantly surprised when our lattes came out in these LARGE dinner glasses. Taken back by the size at first, we were pleasantly surprised that the coffee was freaking delicious. Like such a good latte! And if you aren’t in the mood for coffee, they have a wide variety of other beverages that should satisfy any pallet!
I placed a question mark next to the aesthetic because it just was not mine or Davids vibe… we couldn’t put our finger on it but it’s not the look we enjoy. While the coffee was great, plenty of seating, and wonderful location, there was just something we didn’t like about the look! but maybe YOU will like it, so at least try this place once.
Recommendations: Iced Vanilla Oat Milk Latte
3. Flower Child – Coffee, Food, & Bar
Coffee: ? Aesthetic: 4.5/5 Remote Work: 5/5 Prices: $5-25 (if you get food)
Welcome to your dietary restriction besties paradise! Whether you are someone or know someone who is vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or practically any other dietary restriction, FLOWER CHILD has you covered. Trust me, the food, coffee, and drink menu will not disappoint and the costs won’t be to drab either! (p.s. I haven’t tried the coffee here yet, but when I do I will update my review, it looks great though!)
This is the perfect spot to grab dinner with a friend, located right in downtown Dallas! Or, bring your laptop or favorite book and post up for hours sipping your favorite coffee order or try one of their seasonal specialty drinks. And don’t miss out when the weather is just right, there are plenty of outdoor seating options to mix up your stay, while sitting inside is my favorite because the VIBES are IMMACULATE!
Recommendations: Avocado Cesar Salad, Brussel Sprouts, Sweet Potato Fries, or Sangria! TRULY 10/10 and worth every penny!
