There’s something magical about spending the weekend in East Dallas with a good cup of coffee. The neighborhoods here: Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, Uptown, and Knox Henderson, each bring their own flavor to the city’s café culture. If you’re looking for the best coffee shops in East Dallas, here’s how I’d spend a perfect day café-hopping through some of my favorite spots.
Morning in Deep Ellum: Merit Coffee + Good Boy Cafe
The sun comes up over the murals of Deep Ellum, and I start the morning at Merit Coffee. The space is bright and open and perfect to start the morning of strong. If you’re a pour-over person, this is your haven!

But while you’re still in the neighborhood, drive over to Good Boy Cafe, tucked inside Hey Konēko. It feels like a secret, warm, whimsical, and artsy space. They whip up seasonal drinks with house-made syrups, and yes, they’ll even treat your pup with a “pup cup.” It’s the kind of café you stumble upon and immediately want to bring a friend back to. The store is full of vintage and contemporary artisan trinkets!
Stroll through Lower Greenville: La La Land Kind Café + Juju’s Coffee + Window Seat Coffee
Lower Greenville is where café culture and community collide. At La La Land Kind Café, sunshine pours through big windows while baristas serve up bright matcha and golden lattes (all the frufru lattes that we say we hate but we secretly love).
Next stop: Jujus!. Once a retro Airstream trailer, now is a full brick-and-mortar on La Vista. It still has the vintage neighborhood charm, where you’re as likely to run into a friend as you are to meet someone new. They expertly roast their own beans, recently remodeled, and continue to be THE neighborhood coffee shop in East Dallas!

Just down the road, Window Seat Coffee is tucked around the corner! With airplane windows lining the walls, it feels like you’re about to take off on an adventure. It’s the perfect spot to open your laptop or daydream about your next trip. By now, you’ve already hit three of the best coffee shops in East Dallas, and it’s not even lunchtime.😏
Explore Uptown: Union Coffee + Village Baking Company
The energy of Uptown makes it a great midday stop. Head to Union Coffee, with the perfect indoor outdoor accommodations. Gather around long tables and have sweet conversations over the best honey matcha latte!

Okay here is the hidden coffee shop gem: Village Baking Company. Yes this is a bakery but also this is where you can get the best lattes and seasonal drinks! And of course, you can’t resist a croissant (or two) and grabbing a sourdough loaf for home (the best). If you ask me, this is one of the best coffee shops in East Dallas to slow down and savor!
Read Shop + White Rhino Coffee
Knox Henderson is home to Read Shop, they combine books and brews, and there’s nothing better than browsing a shelf with coffee in hand. It feels like a hidden pocket of calm in the city.

If you’re looking for a place to work remotely or to grab a coffee to go, White Rhino Coffee is your spot! With locations sprinkled across Dallas, it’s a familiar favorite. Their craft coffee and scratch-made eats feel cozy, like a dependable friend. It’s the perfect nightcap to a day exploring the best coffee shops in East Dallas!
A Day in the Life of East Dallas Coffee
What makes the best coffee shops in East Dallas so special isn’t just the drinks it’s the owners, atmosphere, the neighborhoods, and the sense of community each café cultivates.

So grab a friend, plan a Saturday, and make your way through this coffee crawl. Who knows, your new favorite café might just become your weekend ritual!
